I just don’t know what we’re trying to solve…. There is a training capacity issue, not an interest in the trade issue. If we hire 500 prospective WOs next year, we still can’t train them.
So, the CAF App search engine is apparently a lot better than DWAN’s. CANFORGEN 154/12 clarifies the situation. If CFR, no degree requirement to promote to Maj.
Thanks all!
CFAOs don’t mention a degree as a requirement and I couldn’t find anything in the hundreds of CANFORGENs related degree requirement. Would you happen to know which CANFORGEN(s)?
I am aware of DAOD 5002-10 but was wondering whether that exemption was just for the initial entry or remained throughout the career of the member.
2.5 Officers commissioned under the CFRP are exempt from the normal requirement for CAF officers to hold a baccalaureate degree.
Yes they do.
I am aware of the requirement for a degree but I have seen people without a degree promoted A/L.
Edit: In which policy was that recommendation included?
What are the requirements to promote from Capt to Maj in the Air Reserve? Member is an ex Reg F Capt, that had CFR’ed from WO to Capt while in the Reg F. They do not have a degree. A Maj Class A position is available. Local Air Reserve flight isn’t being useful…
Huh? There are both Class A and Class B opportunities in the Air Reserve, and it’s almost always possible to top up Class A to Class B (for now anyways)
205.385(2) (Entitlement) Subject to paragraph (3), a member of the Regular Force or of the Reserve Force who is on Class “B” or “C” Reserve Service is entitled to this allowance if all of the following conditions are satisfied:
the member occupies a designated position for the purposes of this...
Cramped spaces, concentrated for long periods, from an airworthiness point of view, responsible for the safety of people. No different than sitting in the back of an A330 pressurized at 8,000 ft cabin altitude.
CANSOF assaulters don’t get an allowance either. It’s in their pay. I would never compare SARTECs and Assaulters to any aircrew. They actually put their life on the line regularly. The probability of getting seriously injured or killed as a SARTEC is close to 1…
Sitting for long periods, requiring high levels of concentrations, responsible for the same operation of an aircraft and its systems, etc. Sitting in a GCS is no different than sitting in the back of an A330 pressurized at 8,000 ft….
205.32(1) (Intent) Aircrew Allowance (Monthly) is financial compensation paid for the performance of assigned duties where there is continual and substantial exposure to the environmental conditions associated with flying operations.
A lot of those environmental conditions exist for UAS crew.
There is much more than money in life. I’ll live in a cardboard box under a bridge before I help China (or any foe) in any way. Even without telling them anything classified, they improve their lethality.
Nope. There are important distinctions between a Wing and a Base. Bases lodge units. Wings use base facilities to functions. We have 2 Wings in Bagotville.
