First off, I tried to search for this info and couldn't find anything so forgive me if this has already been asked.
I'm currently in the process of applying to the CF for the second time. I've recently learned that some information which I provided in the first medical was wrong. Unfortunately, it was also this information that deemed me unfit for service.
Basically, I thought I had an anaphylactic reaction to wasp stings when I was 6 (and was stung approx. 20+ times). I don't test positive for the allergy now. However, due to the nature of such a severe reaction, it's more likely that you'll have a second similar reaction if stung again. It was for this reason that I was deemed unfit for service.
I've recently come back into contact with my birth father after many years of no communication and learned that it was not an anaphylactic reaction. Unfortunately since it was 20+ years ago, and in a different province, I highly doubt I'll be able to get any documented proof of the fact that I didn't have a life-threatening reaction.
Since I don't test positive for the allergy now, I'm not worried about that part. I've already booked an appointment with an allergist to sign-off that I'm not at risk for anaphylaxis but I'm still worried that the first application has got me red-flagged. Is there some way that I can recant the information that I gave in the first application? Unfortunately the only proof I could give is a sworn statement under oath from a witness there at the time that I've never had any anaphylactic reaction.
Also, I'm aware of the possibility that people try this all the time after they learn why they were disqualified from joining. Thanks for any input, I appreciate it. I really want this application to go through.
