How long for a PMQ approval?
« on: August 05, 2010, 17:20:45 »
I hope this is the right area to ask this  ???

My husband's course just got pushed back to Jan 2011 instead of Sep 2010.   That means he'll be there for a total of 9 months instead of 5 which means we should be able to get a PMQ.  He is handing in the paperwork tomorrow.  I'm just curious how long approximately the whole process will take, if anyone out there knows.  Thanks.

Hi, sorry I haven't answered before now, and you may not like it much, but here I am...

How long a pmq takes is dependent on a lot of factors...  different bases take different amounts of time.  If you have kids, that can affect it as well.  I know in 2006 in Borden, there was sometimes a 6 month waiting list, after you submitted the paperwork.  In Trenton, I was approved and moved into a Q within a month and a half.  I don't know what the averages may be, but the best thing to do would be to get a hold of the CFHA wherever you're getting posted, and ask them what the general wait time has been looking like.  That's the best suggestion I can give you.  Sorry I couldn't do more!
pilot:  Number 3 engine missing.
tech: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

pilot: Aircraft handles funny.
tech: Aircraft told to straighten up, fly right and be serious

It also depends on the type of posting (e.g. restricted) and if he gets approval to live outside of barracks for his course.
